The

The discovery of the Rosetta
Stone in 1799 that allowed the eventual translation of the hieroglyphs of the Egyptians
did not yield any
support to the theory that the Tarot Card Trumps hailed from Ancient Egypt. Still, the belief

wandering Romany people-"Gypsies" thought to be descendants of Egyptians-had
carried the Tarot deck with them on their travels through Europe.

the Tarot and astrology was in place by 1 C.E., quite possibly several centuries
earlier. One of things that we have found in our studies of the later Greek
writers is that they are already dealing with a later era of Tarot and astrology. They
