Currently as of 10-07 we are paying $12 oz/asw (average silver weight) for all foreign silver coins pre 1965.
Just ship, or write, and we will calculate the silver weight and value for you using the Krause catalogue of World Coins.
The asw or average silver weight is simply the actual amount of pure silver that is in a particular coin type expressed in ounces.
Examples of ASW
For example, the asw of a 1878-1921 US silver dollar is asw 0.7736 oz
{which will surprise some people because it is actually considerably Less than one ounce!}
A 1920-1946 British shilling contains asw 0.1818 oz of silver
A 1920-1945 Mexican peso contains asw 0.3856 oz of silver
A 1878-1920 French franc contains asw 0.1446 oz. of silver,
-- a truly remarkable achievement of France to maintain a stable currency for 120 years, from Napoleons coinage reform until the end of WW 1.
and so on. The weights and refinedness of world coins is remarkably variable, and thus a good reference like the above mentioned Krause references are necessary to determine values. We will calculate silver values for you if you do not have access to such references, although most public libraries will have copies available for loan.

One of our favorite coins, is a hammer struck silver coin from the Seljuks of Rum, struck in Turkey around 1200 AD.
Note the Lion and Sun motif.
We will pay up to $60 for a coin of this quality.
We are particularly interested in acquiring large accumulations and hoards of foreign (ie worldwide) coins as well as ancient and medieval coins from overseas suppliers, but only where such exports and imports are allowed by law.
