Son Goku is the main character of DragonBall, DragonBall Z, and DragonBall GT. He starts off in DragonBall as just a child searching for the DragonBalls with Buruma. Son Goku is a saiya-jin, born on the planet Vegita by the name Kakarotto. He has a tail, like all Saiya-jin, but it is later removed on Earth. He is the son of Bardock, a saiya-jin responsible for some of the revolts against Freeza. Goku is sent to earth as a child to prepare it to be sold.

When he lands on Earth, he is "adopted" by Son Gohan Sr., but he is a very wild and dissobedient child. One day, while playing in the mountains, Son Goku (Named by Son Gohan), falls and hits his head. From this moment on, he the loving and good natured Son Goku we know. During his adventures in DB, he defeats Piccolo Diamao, destroys the Red Ribbon Army, and gets engaged to Chi-Chi. The first time we see Son Goku as an adult is in DBZ. By this time, he is married to Chi-Chi, and has one son, named Son Gohan after Son Gohan. Son Goku does not know he is a saiya-jin from another planet, he is told this by his brother, Raditzu, when he arrives to check up on Kakarotto and how earth is fairing out. At this time, Raditzu reveals Son Goku's true history. Goku eventually has one more son, Son Goten, and one grandchild. Goku's best friend for life is Kuririn, because they grew up together, but Vegita becomes fairly close to Son also. He defeats many villains in DBZ, is the first character to reach Super Saiya-jin, and saves many lives. In DBGT, he looks for the dark star DragonBalls and defeats the evil Shenglongs, along with Vegita.
